Track utilization a factor too? Seems in the early days there were few club events. Now there are many - PCA, Chin, Edge Addicts, MVP, WRL, NASA, others.

Interesting point, you're right, there was a record breaking drought occurring as the track was being constructed. When I drove down from DFW for the first F1 race in fall of 2012 taking the back roads West of I-35 as I usually do (through Lampasas and Marble Falls), I was sadly impressed by the number of dried up ponds and huge dead 150 year-old trees along dry creek beds. It was truly a super severe drought in that time frame. May have nothing to do with what's happening to the track today, but it was dry as a desert back then.

Anyone been to COTA in recent days to see what resurfacing looks like?

For 2019, per requirements of Dorna, we have shaved off bumps at :
- T1
- T2
- T4
- T9
- T12
- T18
- T19
As for repaving we applied a new layer with a different aggregate. It is unknown yet how the aggregate will compare in terms of grip versus the original surface, both in dry and wet conditions.
