Default Buttonwillow Raceway PCA SDR Time Runs 991.1 GT3RS

Well after a fun but exhausting weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway I finished with my best laps during timed runs.

Had 2 rear tires crack on me Saturday morning, and and another rear tire get punctured Sunday morning so had a borrow a wheel/tire from a friend but was able to pull of a decent timed run.

Hope you enjoy!

Talking Broke 2 minutes, WOW!!!

1:59.46 I believe......I ran a pathetic :evil grin: 2:06.60 in my 2004 GT3. I love this video, both hands on the wheel the whole time....must be PDK. Congrats on the run...looks like you own that track.

It does not. Per the DE Minimum Standards, "There shall be no official timing as the event is intended as instructional only, with no competition."

Default Timed runs?

This was a Time Trial. The results were not posted. If you wanted results, you could request them to be electronically set via text.

Gotcha. Thought it was weird there would be timing at a PCA DE.

Thanks for filling in the gaps

PCA SDR region does not offer a DE at the Buttonwillow event because there is also PCA Cup Racing going on so not enough time in the day for all those sessions.

When there is a DE it is usually at Chuckwalla which we do 3 times a year, and they do not use any timing but the other groups/sessions do.

Yep had a burger with him at my RV on Saturday.

He took top time of day in his beast M3 beating all our Porsche's!

Gets my heart pumping harder just watching! I bought a used 944 track car recently that I have run Buttonwillow once with for a break-in, since new to me. I will be trying it again with more gusto next friday hopefully.
Very nice run in that GT3. helps to see your lines, and how you are able to get thru some of the turns much more aggressively than I am able to.
Sheesh, did that M3 driver ever attack "offramp" turn. My goal is to increase speed on the East loop area and riverside/phil hill. Still very cautious after a few spins at this track. I'm surprised at how easy this car comes around.
Thanks for sharing the videos!

Buttonwillow is a great track, but also one if you make a mistake on one turn it effects the others.

Also the M3 was running slicks with a 650hp engine, so he will have much better grip and power then all of us.

Looking at the the M3 video, it was quite evident that he had a ton of grip especially in the slower corners as he was able to take lines and go through them faster than street cars on hoosiers normally do. I'm assuming the M3 was a full blown race car?
