In general, what are the best events to attend? I did a few events up there and loved the NNJR Advanced only event this year (essentially open track on day 2).

What is the HoD event like?

Also have had good experiences with the Zone 1 3-day event.

I can't really speak for most of the PCA events as I don't do that many (but I enjoy those that I do that have limited enrollment like C&S ) but do really enjoy driving with Trackmasters--for your first time you'll need a checkout ride for open track, which gives you FIVE HOURS of open track per day. You can do one or two days. Bring tires and pads

Haven't run with HoD yet.

Gary

CVR's Fall 2-day advanced only was fantastic this year. Two run groups, white & black combined and then instructors, about 3 hours a day of track time. Select non-Porsche marquees were allowed as well but still had tons of space on track, maybe 27 cars per session.

Yes you're more than welcome. We run an Advanced group (along with Intermediate and Novice). In the past, in order to keep it interesting for the Advanced students, we have also occasionally combined Advanced & Instructor groups then bifurcated along the lines of High HP / Low HP akin to Cups & Saucers. TBD how we play it next year.

Haven't heard mention of Chin Trackdays, which are fabulous events, with up to three hours of track time per day. Always two-day events, usually the M/T following Mother's Day, two days around July 4th, and Labor Day and that Tuesday.

Well-run, good to great instructors (many of whom are PCA), and (mostly) respectful drivers.

Is the advanced group solo and does it require a checkout ride?

FWIW I've run many hi/lo hp events and they've worked out very well.

I have done the Zone 1 event in May, the past three years.
There have been a lot of cars, I believe 200+ each year.
It is a well organized event.
The weather here in Upstate New York in May is a crap shoot, it can snow or be in the high 80s.
Last year weather was not great.
I my look at a later in the summer event and hope for good weather.
No matter what the weather, the Glen is always fun.
