When Canadian Tire and Rubber bought what was left of the original PIloti they significantly changed the shoes design. THey made the shoes narrower to the point
where the average person cannot wear them. The shoes are now made in China whereas they had been made in Vietman. Then they increased the price of the shoes by 100%. What used to retail for $75 is now $150.
WE were a big dealer under the old regime and then signed up with Canadian Tire. In 2006 we sold somehere in the neighborhood of 1200 pair of Pilotis under the old regime.
Under the new regime we can't give them away.

This is a nightmare.
What happens to all of the dealers who they sold these shoes to who still have them in stock?
Are they going to get rebated?
I actually own a pair of Piloti track shoes, and paid up for them.
Now they are $100 less, not good for the dealers who bought into the brand.
Just my $.02

The old ones were comfortable. The newer ones fit almost no one. I wore the old ones every day for about 5 years. Hence their give away program. Thank god we didn't get burned that bad but still have some in stock.

I bought some in 2009, not sure if that was pre or post-buyout, but they were made in China. They're junk, the inner lining wore through after about 6mo of occasional use. I still have them and will wear to HPDE events. Would not buy again.

Geez, and all this time I thought I was wearing some high end Italian shoe. I would impress all the girls with my designer Pilotti's . Mine are 8 years old and made in China. Most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. I will give these a try for $40. Thanks for the heads up.

My wife showed me the Piloti sale link a few days ago and said "I think we should both get extra shoes." Damn I married well.

I agree about the new ones being junk. I have gotten a few pairs of the originals off eBay after trying the new ones and returning them.
I left a bad review on Herrington.com and they deleted it. Now I rip up all their catalogs.
