Japanese Grand Prix - Who Will Win?
#16
Was just watching P1 practice on ESPN 2...Gasly of Toro Rosso #10 almost caused a bad crash with Hamilton!

Wouldn’t have mattered. Mercedes was .5 seconds faster than Ferraris in Q2 with the HARDER compound. Vettel with yet another unforced error.... it’s like watching a slow motion train wreck

^^ this. It’s so disappointing given the immense potential Ferrari has and the caliber of drivers in their stable!

Now that the championship is over, I couldn’t help but notice a couple of things that really stood out.
1. My man Ricciardo has nothing but back luck. No power again and issues in 5 of the last 7 races. Even last race the team had him run with a damaged front wing for most of the race instead of being him in early.
2. The McLarens are now slower than the Williams... how the mighty have fallen.

Its getting really painful to watch F1. The best racing is in the midfield - the tail end is about as predictable as the front end.
Ferrari seems to be making a habit of going backwards as the season progresses and Hamilton and Mercedes seem to have figured out the rhyme and reason for consistency. And that equates to success and a 5th WC title... Not a fan, but have to respect that they time and time again perform.
Race will be processional tomorrow without the elements coming into play.

Maurizio Arrivabene has to make changes at Ferrari ahead of 2019. Heck maybe Maurizio himself needs to go but right now Toto and MB are eating Ferrari’s lunch. Suzuka is unpredictable however and surprises may await...

^^ weather is always a factor in Japan but it’s rare that someone wins outside of row. 1 or 2

Unfortunate... Vettal should have just waited on what would for sure have been a penalty to Max (from coming together with Kimi) and not attempted a pass on a turn that there was very little chance for success. Seb ends up in the back (again) desperately trying to get back where he was from his own mistake. It's frustrating to see how his temperament continues to get the best of him and basically makes the end of the season a non event as Hamilton cruises to another victory with not a single challenge. I hope next year looks different.
