FS: Continental Challenge (Hoosier) 225/45-17 Track Tires
Anyone interested in some tires? I have two sets of Continental Challenge (Hoosier) 225/45-17 Track Tires that have (4) heat cycles on them. I can bring them to VIR this weekend (10/5-6).
Continental Challenge (Hoosier) 225/45-17 Track Tire
Used 225/45-17 Continental (Hoosier) race tires
They're constructed with the ICTSC rubber compound which is very consistent over long durations of use and minimally sensitive to heat cycles - a great DE tire!
Although sized as a 225, these tires run much wider than 225 street tires and wider than some 225 track tires. If you're nervous that a 225/45-17 is too narrow, consider that these have essentially the same profile width of a 245-width Toyo. These can be used on wheels measuring 7.0-9.0" in width. Manufactured by Hoosier, but branded as Continental, these use the Hoosier R7 compound and feature two steel belts in the sidewall (versus one steel and one nylon.) This helps reduce sidewall rolling in cornering on a "stock-ish" car, reducing the need for as much negative camber as required by standard H7-compound tires on full race/track cars and making them perfect for HPDE / DE / driving school / track day use.
These tires have 4 heat cycles, so they have plenty of life and no flat spots.
These 225/45-17 tires cost $298 each when new.
NOTE: These tires do not have tread - tread depth is determined by wear holes ONLY.
Tires are NOT directional.
