Rennsport Reunion extracurricular activities...
I'm headed to Rennsport Thursday with my 15 year old son and will be there until Sunday when we drive up to San Francisco to leave for home Monday morning. Pretty much a father son trip which we're both pretty excited about. We'll be staying in a house in Carmel By the Sea for our home base while at Rennsport. I've never been and I'm hoping many of you reading this have and can help me with a couple of things. Is there a list of "must dos" at this event and are things pretty contained or is it all over the place? The second question is since we have a rental car, are there any things we should do or visit not associated with Rennsport? For example I was thinking of doing a drive along the coast or going to see the Golden Gate Bridge when we get to SAN Francisco on Sunday (we're staying on Union Square). Thanks in advance for your advice.

I would take one of the week days and take a drive down through Big Sur and then back up through the redwoods. It's enough to make even a 15 year old put his phone down.

Canepa
Go to Canepa in Scott’s Valley on your way to S.F. I hear they have an amazing collection of vintage Porsche’s and other cars. I have not been yet but my friends rave about the place.
Also, when you are in SF, drive to Coit Tower, it is an amazing view of the Bay, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Enjoy.

Take the Alcatraz tour, it's worth it.

Three Wheelin'
17 mike drive, Monterey Aquarium, Canepa, kids like Santa Cruz with its skater and boarder culture. There's so much to do in the area it's hard to know what to tell you.
