6th is near the rear...?

Snooze fest. Announcers kept trying to drum up the drama but race was decided after the first turn.

Hard to believe Ferrari can have the fastest car and keep getting beat. Gotta hand it to Hamilton and MB. They're on a different level at the moment.

Agreed on all counts.

Mercedes is beating a better car with superior preparation and race tactics. Ferrari will need a reset to make this a battle to the end. Eventually they will have a bad race, but time is running out.

Max did quite well today, as well. Dealt with Vettel early on and then both he and Hammy made it through Sirotkin's mess. I bet both were just praying they weren't taken out by guys battling for NO points in 17th place. Also, Alonso got a few more points than I expected. Otherwise, a fairly boring race.

The Ferrari was the faster car up until Spa but Monza and this one showed that the Mercedes has overtaken the Ferraris again. Hamilton was .6 faster in qualifying than Vettel and never was pressed in the race even when Vettel was P2.

That said, boring race. F1 has got to go back to refueling and unlimited tires — this winning the race at the slowest pace possible so we don’t make a 2nd pit stop is a yawn fest

Once Max got in front of Vettel I fast forwarded to the last ten laps. There was nothing really in between.

Vettel is letting it slip away.

Can we come out and say it that MB is outdueling Ferrari on race strategy and Hamilton besting Vettel in a slower car just shows his brilliance. Great win by Lewis, the man simply doesn’t make unforced errors on track! Vettel and Ferrari better figure things out or Lewis will bag his 5th driver’s championship in no time.

How long can Maurizio hold out at this rate? Having been flogged about the head and shoulders by better strategy for the last few races this has got to be wearing thin on the Italian company. Will he be back next year?

Agreed, fairly boring race overall. Showed once again that Hamilton can drive and Bottas can't really match him. Verstappen did well. Tire strategy didn't work well for Vettel, but at least he held on to 3rd.

Indy car and NASCAR have re-fueling and NASCAR has unlimited tires. Still, comes down to fuel mileage and controlling the pace. I do not know what the answer is but Singapore was a bore.

I think, unless one's opinion of Bottas is very very low, the notion that you could plug anyone with a license into a Mercedes and win the WDC is being torn to shreds this year. Recent prior years maybe or perhaps probably, but not this year.

That race was a snoozefest. All the drama of Monte Carlo with none of the history.

Never thought Verstappen's engine was going to last whole race.

Never really understood the Botas pick but Rossberg kind of caught Merc by surprise IIRC.

A pretty long in the tooth Felipe Massa was still handling Botas as a team mate at Williams.

Not a Ham fan by any means but that was other level stuff at Singapore.

Another aspect, that sometimes gets overlooked when assessing drivers is their ability to handle pressure. So far, it's become apparent that Hamilton is far & ahead better at handling the pressure at the top than Vettel. Vettel clearly isn't handling the heightened expectations very well while Hamilton appears to be taking it in stride while driving to perfection. My fear for Vettel is that, with 6 races left, he might push harder and make further mistakes that would essentially finish off his title hopes! I read that at this point, Ferrari and Vettel are basically praying for Hamilton to DNF a couple of races in order to stand a chance...
