So far, not so good on this DE. Still working on this one. Too many track days and only 1 wife.
Kids are fine with me doing all the track days (heck, I think they even like me being out of the house).
Wife, not so much. I'm not just pushing the envelope this season, I have basically knocked the envelope off the table. Closing in on 40 days with 10 more to go. (not including this DE with CVR).
I'm still giving it a shot though....

Why don't you do this DE with CVR? If you do it, then I can explain to the wife that since we live in the same town as you, it's imperative that I'm at this DE to offer you coaching and instruction and give you a ride home after the event.....

This event is one of my favorites as the cool crisp WGI weather equals low lap times. Plus the dinner Saturday night at the Harbor Hotel should be a ton of fun.

I just asked the boss- I pretend to be at my house.. Since the change in my employment (none now) & cash flow she said "too cold" for me and said no. I have until tomorrow to convince her that I have to go because dgrobs is going to win his DE championship & I need to be there.. Luigi - yes. that was me.. I still had my Silver 79' 930...

I do get special rate at The Inn at the Iron Master which helps - but....
I am not anywhere near confirmed as attending this event yet.
This is the envelope I am pushing right now:
October:
I am gone the 1st and 2nd for the Niagara DE at The Glen. (Travel day on 9/30)
I am gone the 13th, and 14th for our NNJR Lightning event. (Travel day on 10/12)
I am gone the 26th, 27th, and 28th, for our NNJR DE at VIR. (Travel days on the 25th and 29th unless I tow home after begin on track Sunday the 28th, which I hate, but may do anyway--would get me home around 3 am Monday morning, so either way, I'm useless and missing work on Monday)
This is in addition to the 40 days I've already done this season. I also have 5 days tentatively set up for early November. (Summit Point and possibly @#$% *&^%$#@).
I am going to try and work some magic again tonight for this CVR event, but make no mistake, I am not confirmed for this. So far, not good. I love the track, but I ain't gonna lose my family over it.
Then, on top of all that, now I hear there's going to be a magic show and a buffet dinner at The Harbor. Killing me!!

Maybe we could try to find a driver who does hypnosis to convince your wife to let you go?!
