Anyone know how fast these things are generally at tracks like NJMP T-bolt, Lightning, WGI?

I was tempted (I'd like to go full cage) and looked up the PCA class records. At Summit for an SP2 car the record is right in line with/slightly faster than Spec Miata class records at 1:24. I think at WGI it's 2:12.9. You can look here: http://www.rennpoints.com/classrecords/

These are great cars to learn. Faster drivers are usually in the high 1:30s at NJMP and the 2:15s and up at WGI. Don't look for a lot of excitement in terms of acceleration.

Not a bad deal for a well-caged car. You'd want to add, or take off, a few things to make it competitive.

As far as setting track record times go

Track records are a good measure of the upper bounds of the capability of a car. No one is talking about setting them.

great cars to learn how to drive in, no nose bleeds from acceleration but they do handle incredibly well, you learn to stay on the gas and only brake when absolutely necessary pretty damn cheap to run as well

Best deal to learn how to drive the racing line and learn excellent car control skills, master this cars capabilities and then move up to a car with more acceleration. With a poperly setup suspension, the driver can subconsciously learn to match the cornering capabilities, faster from corner turn in to apex than the best driven SPB and good driven Cayman. Buy it and learn the "old school way.".

Paul Newman learn to race starting with low to cars such as the Datsun 510 and then as he became competent and comfortable moved to a higher performing car, ie more up.

My friend Warren Agor, Camaro TransAm driver in Hugger Orange #13 and the featured driver in Brock Yates book, "Sunday Driver," said to Paul in 1974 at Lime Rock, "You should starting driving a Camaro."

Paul's response was, "I am not ready yet." When he was ready, Paul was driving a Date in tube frame 300Z to perfection .

Disclaimer: I own and drive a 1983 Porsche 944.

Bump.
$6,500. We replaced rod bearings since that seemed to be a concern for many that were interested. All fluids are now fresh as well. Track ready.
Priced to move. Need the shop space.

That's a good deal. Someone needs to buy this. SP2 class has some great, very competitive racing in the Northeast.
