New Force India Team in F1
So now it's "Racing Point Force India" owned by Larry Stroll. Starts fresh with zero points.

strange situation to say the least
|
I heard that Stroll will be going to Force India immediately after the Monza race in place of Ocon ... and that Kubica will take his seat at Williams
for the remainder of the season. Must have bean quite a deal for the new investors , giving up 59 constructor's points is a big amount of money in the end ... |
Starts fresh with zero points like a new team; except they carry over the old engine and transmission penalties. Thanks FIA!

Lawrence: so Lance what do you want for Christmas this year?
Lance: I want my own F1 team, but I don't want to wait for Christmas, I want it now. Lawrence: Done |

It's a weird deal and a weird name. Are they intending to drop the Force India part at the end of the year and just go with Racing Point? Still a weird name.
The FI cars have been more competitive than Williams so lets see what young Stroll can do and if he will quick bitching about everything! |

<I'd link it, but I don't remember where I found it.> The Force India team had the F1 rights to race. While the collective assets did not. The points are worth an estimated $20M euro -- but the asking price for the Parent organization was expected to be significantly more dear. If the Force India parent team who owns the license, and thus the points are purchased, than nothing is forfeited. If the new team gets to beg F1 to be allowed to race without a license (or negotiates for a license), or acquires a separate license -- the points and the money are forfeited to F1 and redistributed. This of course begs many many more questions... Mike |

Listened to Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer interview during Free Practice 1. Losing the points and dropping out of 6th place was unfortunate but he didn't seem too concerned. With only 10 teams everyone will get some money. Williams will be ahead of them in 9th with only 4 points. Good old Larry intends to keep all 405 employees. He also promises to dump money into research for next year. When Otmar was asked about changes in the driver lineup . . "Those decisions haven't been made yet". lol |
Definitely first world 0.00001%er problems

They should just be "The Force."

And both “Force” cars qualified 3rd and 4th at Spa today!!! With Ocon 3rd and possibly about to lose his seat to Lance |
