Default HANS group buy for PCA

In 2019 you will be required to have a HANS if you have a harness driving with PCA.
How many people will this effect?
Would HANS even think about cost savings if we did a group buy?
It would be nice if PCA did this for us.

I would think that if you already have a 6 pt. harness, you already have a Hans or a Hybrid Hans.

Don't think it will affect too many people if they already have the harnesses.

JMHO....

You do not have to have a HANS

You have to have a head and neck restraint

Exactly...

Right now, I am using a Hybrid with the 6 pt harnesses. I will be getting a Hans as well, as the Hybrid can get a bit uncomfortable with the harnesses, but I had the Hybrid because I used that before I got the harnesses.

Safety first for sure....

Many do not, but will need to as of 1 Jan 2019 for PCA events.
I'm currently shopping for one.

Cheers

Go to the racing forums, there are always various restraints for sale used. I bought a second unit (spare) for $300 and it looks like new.
Every year there is a newer and lighter version available. As a result, there is always a 2 or 3 year old like new unit being sold for 1/2 or 1/3 the price of new because that racer has to have the newest and lightest of everything.

I’m really surprised that many people tha have harnesses don’t already have some neck restraint. That was my whole reason FOR getting harnesses.

Just like Dale, they don't think that THEY need one.
Footnote in history, Dale was one of the first drivers who tested the early versions and was 100% against them.

I like the windows up, AC on, streaming music, H&N and full race suit guys and gals on DE days.

They are so very very polite. Blinkers on, not sure if theyre turning or asking me to go around them but so very nice people.

For me. on hot days AC on and windows up allow me to sip my latte while listening to my favorite podcast while on track. Heck, my 991 GT3 Bluetooth i can take call and still, with nanny's on continue to drive around the track. Its a beautiful thing. Really.

You forgot the cruise control, that REALLY makes it special.

Especially on the newest cars with adaptive cruise control. Just set it so you’re half a car length off the bumper of a really fast driver and BOOM! Now you’re learning how to be quick!

Doesn't sound like there is much interest.
