E-Class 911 rear camber
 

Helping one of my buddies set up his 911. We are working on rear camber/toe. With stock spring plates, what camber and toe settings are you guys using? Can you get enough camber with all the "stock" adjustments? Running 17" Hoosiers with JRZ shocks. Application is full race. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Don, I'm running -2.5 rear camber with 1/16 toe in per side using sway away spring plates and the camber max adjusters on my 87

First, need to dump the 17" wheels, too big, no torque out of the corners.

If it is a track car 15" wheels are the way to go. Almost 2 " difference in height between the 15" and the 17".

Thanks Guys.. That will be an adventure to now swap from 17" to 15", but makes total sense. Is the rear camber with the 15's about 2.5-2.8 or are most using more?

Now that I am back in my E car after 3 years with me on 17" and everyone else on 15" I have been getting my tail kicked. Finally making the switch at Road America. New wheels should arrive Monday.

what wheels did you go with? offsets? I'm in the market for new ones.

For 15s the Hoosier R7 275/35 & 245/40 are both ~23" tall, hard to beat that for both gearing and grip.

you'd want 8x15 fronts ET27-30, the 245 is a very tight fit but it is doable, usually w/ lip shaving and replacing the shock cover w/ a flexi one, 225/45 could also be used for an easier fit but then you don't get that nice turn in that the 245s give
in back 9.5ET19 there is no room for any difference in ET, the trailing arm bolts may need to be shaved down and lips will need to be shaved but, the short tires really help w/ the lip clearance

Went with the Jongbloed 305's. Just call them they know what the correct offsets are.

Bunch of us in the Canadian 944 Challenge series made a group buy of Jongbloed 15 inch race wheels a few years ago , and if i remenber
right , we got them through Phil's Tire Service , think it was 25 sets total of early and late 944 offsets ... keep in mind , those
wheels were manufactured in China ...

I personally took two sets , still good after four racing seasons though !

One of our 944 guys had a catastrophic failure with one of the Chinese Jongbloed wheels ... it was a long battle
to prove the wheel was at fault as they tried everything to discredit the driver ...
