Limerock Historics. What should I know?

I finally think I can make it this year.
Should I even go?
I've never been to a race, and don't even watch other groups during my DE says.
Is there a proper "way" to watch racing?

A friend said that Saturday is the best day.
Any truth to this?

When would you attend?
Any general tips on attending?

Been going for thirty years. Racing there for twenty-eight. Group 6, car #91, come down to the paddock and visit. Saturday is best! Bring a lawn chair, hat and drinks. Move around the track.

Should you go?.. Hell yeah! Best event next to the IMSA race. Here's a teaser, I filmed this for Lime Rock at the 2016 Historics, if this doesn't motivate you nothing will.

Tips: Watch the weather and pick the best day. No racing on Sunday, it's a car show. Bring walking shoes and a wide brim hat (straw is good) for shade. Insect repellent, sunscreen, camera. Lots of good viewing everywhere.

Great track where you can lay on a grass hill and relax watching racing or walk around and watch racing from every part of the track.

Great video above.

Great track for racing photography as well. The sight lines to the track are excellent from within the public viewing areas and there are many areas where you can shoot and have armco and forest as your background.

Very worth attending in my opinion. I don't have the schedule handy, but it'll be more crowded on raceday, possibly more laid back on practice days, in case that influences your decision about when to attend.

I was scheduled to race but unfortunately my engine quit last weekend. I'll still be there to cheer for everybody on Monday!

ProCoach 08-23-2018 07:48 PM

Friday practice sessions are ONE forty minute sessions for each of the eight groups. Two races each group Saturday and Monday.
