Also if you're cheap like me when the outsides get worn you can get the RE71s flipped on the rims. Little slower since the tires will probably have heatcycled out but that's fine for me.

Can't do that with the MPSC2 since the inside tread compound is different than the outside.

Cup 2 is better for the street, RE71R is definitely better for the track (in pretty much every way).

-- I've been led to believe that the MPC2 is not directional.

Not directional, but you can't flip it on the rim - inside has to stay inside, outside has to stay outside. You can swap left and right wheels.

I ran 71's last season and loved them. Flipping them every which way including backwards(in the dry) I got 10 days out of them with some tread remaining but they heat cycled out by then. I put RS-4 on this spring as I read repeatedly that they're 90% as fast as 71's but last way longer. Ran them today at LRP for the first time, grip was great but my butt was telling me the sidewalls are softer then the 71.

To the OP: RE-71s all the way. Cup2 isn’t worth the money unless you NEED it.

Hey I was LRP yesterday with RS-4s too. I had a hard time getting the pressures dialed in (but was also dealing with some issues with my suspension setup). Any other thoughts/feedback on the tire? I’m running 255/35R18 up front and 285/35R18 our back

Unfortunately, apparently, TireRack just confirmed that Bridgestone is no longer making RE-71Rs in 295/30R20, which is stock size on GT4s.
