Any info out there on the GT4 America West Series
Does anyone have more info about this series?
Is it in the Pirelli World Challenge Series
Will they allow the gen 1 porsche gt4 clubsport?
From dailysportscar.com
GT4 America: New East and West Regional SeriesThe recent global success of the GT4 format, combined with the need for a more regional, cost effective offering has led to the creation of two new Series for 2019.GT4 America East and GT4 America West will provide time efficient options for teams and drivers based on both sides of the United States, each consisting of five race weekends. They will use the SprintX format and be reserved for two-driver Pro-Am (silver/bronze) and Am (bronze/bronze) line-ups. Each region will award its own title, with no overall championship available.

It is Pirelli World Challenge, and it isn't. SRO bought controlling interest in WCVision, so now they will make the rules.
In Europe the SRO has homologated the 997 cup up through this year, so I'd guess you can run your car for a few years.

In the United States, the Pirelli World Challenge will be restructured to feature seven GT rounds, all using the two-driver Sprint X format and running at the country’s premier road racing circuits.
GTS will comprise eight rounds, retaining the DNA of the PWC with a single-driver format. Competitors ranging from professionals to amateurs will run at an impressive set of tracks, including spots on the IndyCar Series support bill at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
A seven-round TC calendar will allow this growing category to fully develop its own identity, while two new GT4 series – GT4 America East and GT4 America West – will adopt a two-driver format for Silver and Bronze-graded competitors.

Yep it's PWC
They are having an East and West Series next year...with no overall championship...each will have their own. Prize money only for drivers who sign up for the entire year.
I can't wait to have shorter weekends and shorter flights personally.

Sorry, to clarify this is for Sprint X
There will still be a full GTS series as well with single driver sprint races which will not be east/west.

At least they aren't allowing gold drivers next year...but the driver classifications are beyond absurd any way.

If anyone is interested in race support or car prep / testing for the west coast series let me know. We are going to run a few cars in the series and then use them for Laguna Seca 8HR, COTA 24, Thunderhill 25 etc.

Jack Baldwin is now with PWC. Spoke to him yesterday and it is still early in the process.
He doesnt know if they will have classes for the gen 1 gt4 clubsport vs the new one coming out.
Sounds like they are running the sprint x format for the GT4 and we will be mixed into the PWC race weekends

It appears the GTS format is now single driver. 50 minutes. Bronze, silver and Gold classes.
And a new GT4 America Series is offered for the east and west. 5 races each. Two drivers per car. Pro-am class and Am class.
(it appears the GT4 east will run some of the same weekends as GTS).
I would think SRO would require current cars for GT4 class and PWC would like to avoid multiple classes if possible. Although, depending on car count that might not be realistic.
In terms of Porsche Clubsports, the outgoing cars can always join trophy east or trophy west, club race in PCA GTD, etc. as an alternative if no longer accepted in PWC.

Anybody here looking at the PWC GT4 east series?
It looks like i will be running a 2019 GT4 in the PWC east series and my team (BGB) could use one more car under the tent to keep the costs down.
We will also be doing some PCA trophy east which will help get you additional seat time if desired which is a nice option to have if your car is under our tent.
A batch of new 2019 GT4 clubsports are scheduled for USA, March 2019 if you are considering.

I don't think they will allow the Gen 1 club sport...that damned car drove BOP insane...hoping the new Cayman levels things a bit.
