Default French Grand Prix - Who Will Win?

Back to Circuit Paul Ricard after a 28-year hiatus. Four 300+kph straights. Who's got the motor and brakes to go the distance?

Ericsson is the one on fire and it took him a long long time to get out of the car. Don't know if he was just taking his time and didn't realize the car was on fire, he was dazed and confused, etc. but the replay was scary and I found myself yelling at the screen to "get out"!!

Shaved tire race goes to Mercedes and Hammy. He was .7 up on the 2nd best car (not a Ferrari, but Ricciardo in the RB) in FP2. Real speed comes tomorrow. This track was before my time so I'm not familiar with it but if anyone has ever been out to Firebird in Phoenix, this looks like that configuration LOL.

Who I want to win and who I think will win are definitely two different people... we'll probably know after the first lap and then we can mow the lawn, etc...

Does anyone else get a headache just watching practice? All those damned lines etc around all the corners??? Looks like some kind of optical illusion!!

The Brits will be there in force and with the close proximity I have to think that this will go to Hamilton, but I'm hoping for Vettel. With the exception of the turn 1 melee, I sometimes feel these races are "influenced" by the FIA.

It's cool that F1 is back at Paul Ricard but with 180 difference configurations for testing they can run on the track now it reminds me of an autocross course,.....I'm not sure which parts of the pavement are the correct turns!

Does anyone see the rising star coming? LeClerc makes it to Q3. His previous points scoring races were not flukes. He might get points in this race also.

The rumor flying around right now is that he goes to Ferrari next year taking Kimi's seat. I can't wait to see what he does in a front running car.

Yup. If Ferrari hasn't already agreed to a contract with Ricciardo, then Charles Leclerc would be the perfect fit -- he's special and given a couple more years to polish everything up, he'll be a top driver once this class of top drivers have retired. At this point Kimi makes too many mistakes during qualifying and isn't fast enough in the races.

No one's commenting on the McLaren's being at the back of the grid just ahead of Williams??? 1.4 seconds off the time of the fastest car with the same engine (RBR)?

What if Ricciardo goes to either Ferrari or Mercedes and Alonso goes to Red Bull?

Interesting. But my money is on ALO shocking everyone and leaving F1 for a full time Indy season in search of his triple crown.

F1 needs a new face in a competitive car IMO. LeClerc seems tailor made for the role. Hope he can keep advancing and if it's for the Scuderia, more the better.
Tomorrow's race is an MB lockout on the 1st row, and from what I have read, MB seems to have an upgraded engine and a tire advantage @ Paul Ricard, so could be a snooze fest for the loves of the red cars...T

Is it me or does that track look confusing? With all the colors and so many different layouts the track could use, it looks like a condo complex. Its not like these cars are slow either.
