I agree completely. For me, I look at the upside and downside. I know they say I can run the oil in my track car for a long time, but the downside of an early oil change is a $200. The downside of oil failure is over $10k. So, I do oil changes 30-40 hours.

Thats another good metric, and a sigh of relief for me. I measure in track days because I'm strictly running DE's, I replace every 5 track days which is typically less than 10 hours.

I change mine every 4 track days. I have an initial baseline from Blackstone labs, but after this weekend at Sebring, I'm due for another oil change and will send in another sample.

I ran at Thunderhill in close to 100 degree heat and saw 226 engine coolant temp and 278 oil temp. I have a stock 2014 C2S. I usually only see the 195 coolant temp and was surprised to see the 226 only because I've heard it only shows195 unless the car is close to overheating. Does the coolant temp ever read an accurate number?

The gage on the dash won't change (mine stays at 194 degrees) unless you pass a certain threshold. However, you can pull the real coolant temp from the OBD. Mine runs about 40-50 degrees less than the oil temp.

I have tracked regularly both a 2014 and a 2016 Carrera, no center radiator with your engine. I also used a data logger. The temps I consistently saw were between 250 and 260, these were PCM temps. They were corroborated by data logger connected to the ECU. I now track a 2016 GT3 and am in shock at how low the temps are in comparison with the center radiator.
