Vintage Race death at Mosport?
Does anyone have details of a death in a vintage race at Mosport yesterday? A good racing friend of mine told me a friend from the Chicago area (with his shop at Autobahn) was involved in an accident I believe in a vintage McLaren?? We are trying to find out more details...

and sadly this.....
· It is with great sadness that we must inform you that the Radical family lost one of its own yesterday.
Jeff Green, 61, passed away after an accident whist racing his beloved Formula 5000 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mosport) during the VARAC (Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada) Vintage Grand Prix.
In typical Jeff Green fashion, he had qualified on pole position, had set the fastest lap and was leading the Formula 5000 Revival Series race when the incident took place.
Jeff will be remembered for embodying everything great about our community. He was a larger than life character, whose passion for cars and racing was matched by his smile, warmth, generosity and hospitality. He was a true gentleman racer.
Only just weeks ago we witnessed his spirit, competitiveness and friendship first hand as he claimed two victories in the Radical Cup North America series at the very track he was participating at this weekend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Pamela, family and friends, as well as the wider Autobahn Country Club, Team Stradale and Radical racing fraternities.
From all of his friends at Radical Sportscars.

Thanks. That looks like Jerry Hansen's old F5000 he was driving. Pretty sure he was parked across the road from my son and I a couple years ago at Blackhawk Farms when my son was racing his Formula Enterprises car.
So sad...

Going up there for a track day Tuesday and will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. It's a cliché but he WAS doing what he loved.

RIP. Very sad.
I guess the lesson to be learned is not expect 21st century crash protection standards in 1970’s race car..more so in an open wheel vintage race cars.
