There's no bigger fan of Ricciardo than me (just look at my avatar) and he did everything possible to keep his car up front (Christian Horner said the race engineers were telling them they would need to retire the car in a lap or 2 because of only having 6 gears, no PU, being 2.5 seconds down and rear brakes overheating because of no engine assist from the PU.... but on any other track, he would have been toast.... Monaco has outlasted it's useful life as a track venue. The cars are putting in laps that are 12 seconds per faster than when Senna drove, the cars are wider -- just no place to pass.... It's still amazing to watch these drivers go so fast around such a narrow course at over 100 MPH average speed, but maybe they should turn it into a skills competition rather than a race... After qualifying the drama is over.

What Monaco is still good at is bending the rules and having Grid Girls (I guess enough money to Liberty trumps the PC image they have), Tom Brady, Flavio "Flava Flav" Briatore and Hugh Grant commenting on the Grid Girls...
