Proper 911 race car, engine in the back. Should be a strong package for 2019.

It's in the middle isn't it - that's basically a cayman with a rear multi-link

This car is mid-engine as of last season.

Videos are the R, not RSR. R is very much rear engine.

RSR is mid or mid-rear depending on who’s describing it.

Porsche's GT3 names are so confusing

991 GT3 - street car
991 GT3 cup - race car 'cupcar'
991 R - GT3 street car with no wing and a manual gear box
991 GT3 R - Race car for racing in 'GT3' class
991 GT3 RS - street car
991 GT3 RSR - Race car for Le Mans GT racing. This is the mid engined version.

Did I get that right?

love me the R. My ultimate dream car. Working my way up the motorsports ladder to get one someday.

I wonder what changes were made to the 2019 model to make it more competitive?

No, that’s the RSR. Note the clear side windows and back glass. The R is an evolution of the Cup that bridges the gap to the RSR.

It's amazing and this car is a BIG Step up from the current 2016-2018 R.
This car is more of a pared down RSR than a built up Cup. All new for 2019 is the RSR (multi-link) suspension, E diff, new aero, RSR cockpit, RSR A/C.....a ton more!!
This will be a nice bump for Porsche in the GT3 spec class around the world.
