Default Hotels for Thompson in CT

Have not done a DE day since 2008, but signed up for Thompson, 3 days in May with NER region. Track has a few hotels suggested but seeking opinions. I plan on trailering (is that a word) there Thursday night so hotel needs trailer parking. Next question is if people leave cars and trailers at the track overnight? I live about 85-90 min away but prefer to wake up close by.

Can't you drop off the night before? Check your track pack or NER website.
Never been to Thompson, so no info on hotels. The Casinos can't be too far if that helps...

I'd ping the event organizers, they usually have great suggestions. (I'll be there but live about 50 minutes from the track and like the feel of my own bed.)

There are a number of hotels close by but sometimes there is a favorite. Friend recommended one he uses but it does not have a restaurant, and no restaurant within walking distance.

I used this one - Southbridge Hotel & Conference Center - which did have limited food. A unique building. Their website now shows more dining options.

I looked into that place earlier. Cannot make sense of the parking situation for a trailer and truck. It used to be an industrial building?

Sorry - I missed this one...

OK - Thursday May 24th, you sure can drop off your trailer/rig/car at Thompson at 6:00 PM or later. As well, I'm probably going to schedule in an evening TECH Line for folks that are there, to help take some of the morning pressure off of folks getting to TECH on Friday... I'll confirm that in a bit, OK?

As well - this event currently has a Wait List for three of the Run Groups - so, if folks are thinking of attending - I'd get signed up soon... Furthermore - there is a very good chance we'll be bringing up the Lime Rock Miatas and a Pro Coach to do the skidpad, rather than have folks beat the CR@P out of their cars to try to get them to *almost* rotate on the skidpad... It's my plan - if this works to also make them available to Solo Drivers throughout the day - so, watch this space...

Motels - I stay at the Quiet Inn in Brooklyn CT - about 15 minutes south of the track. DD is next door, so I grab a coffee before heading up to Thompson...

See you there - and hope this helps!

In the back there is a big parking lot that is shared with a business. I had no trouble parking back there at two events.

Closest best restaurants are in Putnam, CT. We like 85 Main. I stayed at America's Best Value Inn once also in Putnam. Now I just commute from home.
