Hey -- For those who have mounted solar battery chargers to roof of aluminum enclosed trailer... How did you do it?

I've been thinking about doing this, and already own a battery tender solar panel, but after this winter it would have been covered for months.

100% silicone caulking. Allows it to be removed with a little work and provides and vibration damper as well

Default Solar panel mounting

I mounted a 50W panel to keep my trailer and generator batteries topped off. Used panel corner mounting brackets and Dicor self leveling lap sealant to attach to the roof of the trailer.

Works great. Use some brackets to keep a little airflow under the panel. screw the panel to the brackets, tape the brackets to trailer roof. Mines been on there 2 years and hasn't moved.

One of my Cat portable gensets has one installed in this manner. Seems to work just fine.

Mine looks pretty much like this. I've got two 100W Renogy panels. I put the two sided tape between the bracket and the roof and used self tapping screws to secure the brackets to the roof beams. Then the lap sealant over the screws to seal everything up nicely. They're very secure.
