Race Glove Recommendation Needed

I have been using Puma gloves for many years and they are great. The pro-fit cat or Furious are great if you like internal stitched gloves and the Avantis are great if you prefer external stitching. My current set are Avantis and I recommend them highly. Also they are very affordable for such a high quality glove. They cast ~$109.

If you can get yourself secured and drive with a light touch you will be amazed at how much more you can feel the car even with "thick" gloves. Grip the wheel lightly and try driving with just fingertip pressure. Opens a whole new world.
Also, lighter gloves are much easier for corner workers and grid marshals to see when you're giving them signals.

I just pulled the trigger on white Sparco Tides. When the recommendations are unanimous, better take it!
Staying secured is a challenge for me with the 3pt harness. I have a CG lock but that doesn't do much for my torso and the seat belt doesn't have the feature where I can pull it out all the way to activate the lock. So for now, I will just consider it a core workout!

I have Alpinestars 1-ZX. They work well for me. Try them on before you buy them as I think they fit a little small compared to the advertised measurement sizing. My hands measure large but I wear an xlarge and they fit perfectly.

You mentioned your track car has a thick padded wheel, but what is the surface? A smooth leather wheel needs a different glove than a suede or alcantra wheel. Brushed leather palms are slippery on a smooth wheel, a rubber/neoprene pad is better, suede on suede bites like glue and doesn't make it easy to unwind the wheel and can wear out fast. I've used sparcos and Pumas but really like the reverse seam stand 21s...with all suede wheels.

My car currently has a smooth leather wheel although I am considering a swap to alcantara. I received the Sparco Tides yesterday and they are terrific compared to the gloves that my buddy has. Well worth the money.
