I am out. Just came back from a 2 day DE. I was driving my wife's 991.1 GT3 and could barely last 20 minutes in the car before I was in intense pain. I only managed 3 sessions over the 2 days. Doesn't look like I am ready for racing yet and need to let the body heal some more.
I will be at the race to say hi to everybody, but it looks like I gotta sit out a while longer.

It's a long season, no point doing something stupid early on which sacrifices the rest of the year or worse!
Sorry to hear but smart man!

Rennpoints has me in fifth so I guess I have to pray for rain where my lack of HP won't matter!
My money is on the Canadians if we get snow during the race!

Thanks Paul. I have followed your progress on Facebook and unfortunately it gives me some insight into one of my medical problems. I am trying really hard to avoid what you just went through. My other medical problems have not gotten any better so its a complex situation for me that quite frankly is a bit depressing.
Gotta hang in there.

Any medical recovery is difficult, prolonged issues are just mentally and physically debilitating though. When you can't remember your last day without pain or it starts affecting sleep cycles, it's quite frustrating and does get incredibly depressing. Especially when you are trying to do everything right and it's keeping you from the things you love. I totally get it! Great job at least trying the DE, you don't know unless you try! And not that you either asked for or need a pep talk I'm sure but I tell everyone two things, 1. Perspective is everything, no matter HOW bad it is for us there are a line of people from here to Sebring that would give anything to have our problems. If a Billy Monger can find a way to stay driven and positive then we as drivers are far too competitive to not give our absolute best effort to do the same. I don't want anyone to have a better attitude through recovery than I did, it's the only thing I can control and 2. Having the goal and target at the end is essential. It's what keeps us going but micro goals along the way are just as important. Keep your eyes on the checkered but be damn sure you hit every apex along the way so to speak... And if you can't be in the real car, come sim racing with Frank and I!!
Life is no different than the drivers seat Matt, eyes up head up! Be strong.
