Puzzled... He does 2 down shifts, that's considered not lifting?

The car slowed significantly.
Also, I know I am new to this racing stuff, but don't you have to lift off the throttle to push down on the clutch?
Puzzling indeed...
Edit: Just watched it again. I see him lifting twice during the shifts. What am I missing?

lifting simply another way of effecting weight transfer, which helps "set" the front wheels before turn in.... correct? just my 2cts

Turn the car and it slows down.. But that aside, you can see his right foot on the break during his downshifts. He may not be braking hard in this car of unknown power, but it sure looks like his fore foot is on the brake pedal on HT downshifts

The "Never Lift" moniker is just the name for a series of short videos made to showcase cool cars at HSR events, not THIS driver in THIS 800 bhp L88 early Seventies Corvette...
