WTB: AMB hardwired transponder

I do find a little humor in the fact that these things are so hot right now. If you pay $450 for a used one, in 5 years you will have saved $100 or $20/year average. It doesn't even seem relevant when compared to the cost of racing for a single weekend, much less for a whole year. But of course racing money isn't even real money so I guess it doesn't matter either way.

They've been that high for several years...
If you've seen as many issues getting the subscription units working at the racetrack, you'd want hardwired AMB 260's, too...

When they first came out with the hard-wired subscription unit, the "key" didn't fit properly into its cradle...and it kept losing contact. They developed a simple little plastic shim and sent one to all subscribers and it seemed to fix the problem. Mine has worked fine for two years.

It is a good reminder to pull the transponder from my SRF before it sells. Wish I had from my 996 though.
