For weight loss, salads can stall your progress (obviously pending what you put in them). Lettuce has no real nutritional value. The only real benefit is that it's mostly made of water and you get a good portion of the water your body needs from what you eat. That and it's roughage so it helps to clean intestinal walls. Problem is a salad full of lettuce is basically eating nothing, and salad dressing is one of the things you don't really want. Lots of sodium and artificial stuff (unless you get the simple vinaigrette's or something like newmans olive oil and vinegar which doesn't even need refrigeration after opening). And if you are working out, salads will have you crashing because you have no complex carbs in your system. Seems like you are making good progress now, but men progress easily at first usually. Once it gets more difficult, that's where you want to start, get rid of the salads.

Dinner salad had corn, beans, chicken, peppers, onion, chicken, and some other stuff for dinner.
I'm pretty careful about keeping protein and carbs in my diet. The nutrionist can also see everything I out in my app, so she knows what I'm eating all the time.

Two interesting things. I was with the nutritionist on Tuesday and she said that most adults will gain 1 lb a year from their 20s until their 50s. 1 Pound a year is roughly 10 calories per day. That's 1 Lifesaver candy!
The more interesting for me, driving while in better shape is WAY easier. I always had a pretty low heart rate in the car relative to other people, but today the highest I saw was 110. Forget the health benefits, the driving benefit is awesome!

The Magic Pill. Good documentary on Netflix. Also on YT:
And, of course, the "debunking" which I couldn't watch to the end.

Who's still having success with this? I've hit an all time low adult weight of 197.4 lbs today! I don't think I've weighed this little since I was about 14 years old.

Matt, I am at 205 lbs and have move my belt 3 knotches inwarded. I have more enthusiasm now than @ 60 years old and yet rapidly approaching 78 years old this year. My key is aerobic dance and strength training 3 days per week, actively volunteering activities using your muscles, and high protein diet, low carbs, reduced fresh fruit with high sugar to fresh fruit with lower sugar content, and 3 glasses of red wine per day, ie. Mediterranean diet,
Best,
Tom

Turned 74 last Monday. About 3 years ago I lost 30 pounds and am about at my college weight (180). I avoid fast food and snacks and off season go to the gym and try to ride my bike at least twice a week in the summer. I do light weight training, limited by muscle and tendon injuries, but use a rowing machine and "electronic" bike for cardio. I work hard enough to get into the "anaerobic zone" which for me is 140-150 bpm. Resting pulse is 60. Usually have wine with meals.
