SpeedSource closed and Auctioning off cars
It's a little sad to see SpeedSource is closed. They were a terrific Mazda team (until the prototypes). Who can forget their dominate RX-8?
With the doors closing, it's your chance to get a few prototypes! Here's the auction http://www.keyauctioneers.com/2017/1...19speedsource/
Here's an article on it http://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/sp...p-for-auction/

Sylvain is a wonderful man, came from a racing family and a great racer. They started as an SCCA Club Racing prep shop doing Mazda RX-7’s that were dominant performers in Improved Touring for a decade before becoming the de facto “factory” entry for Mazda in pro racing. Tons of crew, engineers and drivers went though their program, and it was an active conduit for many to learn their trade. It wasn’t until Sylvain came along that the top level pro efforts of Mazda Motorsports were taken seriously, in the modern age, winning the manufacturers championship and half the races in Grand Am in 2010. BTW, the chassis was Riley built with SS mods.

While it’s a little sad to see them close, Sylvain has certainly earned his “retirement” but I doubt he’ll be able to stay away from the race track. Along with Alex Job, that’s two titans who are moving on.
If I won the lottery, I’d buy HU06 and buy an AER V8 from Chris Dyson and have a LOT of fun!
