done

surprised about the big buckets of over the limit instead of %
questions related to trailering (that is where I am learning a lot) would have been appropriate

surprised there were no questions related to adverse weather conditions
or what peoples location is (where you live inside the us or where outside the us influences your driving conditions and style)

Thanks everyone for completing the survey! He's going to keep it open till Sunday night then I'll post up the results he's gotten. Actually somewhat surprising so far. I know some of the questions are...poorly worded and there could be other/better questions to be asking, but alas it is not my survey. There aren't any questions about trailering because he is focusing more on just day-to-day driving, and I think most people don't trailer on a daily basis. Weather conditions is a very interesting question that I didn't think of, and actually would be quite curious to see the results of, but I think his survey was more of a general thing than specific. Thanks again everyone!

Default Survey ?

Did not take the survey. I was a very bad citizen off the track and some would say worse on it.

Not surprised either. The surveyor missed the most important follow up questions IMO. Distracted driving is the reason I will not speed on local roads. I will only move to the upper levels on a highway when there is no one that can do something stupid near me. I have seen the erosion of driver concentration on the road over the last 45 years. What I see on a regular basis would have gotten you pulled over for DUI 10 years ago, now its some idiot on a cell phone. Racing or DE will not improve these distracted drivers, only hurting themselves or someone else will!. I give cars a wide margin, I trust no one behind the wheel any longer.

Interesting that I have only received one speeding ticket since I began driving on race tracks.

I was going over 50 mph above the speed limit. 122 in 70. It only happened because I was taking Prednisone for bronchitis and didn't know it was making me crazy while driving my 911 to road Atlanta.

In my mind I was "practicing for the back straight."

Needless to say, my driving that weekend was sub-par.

Having said that, now habitually I have stopped speeding above 5 mph over the speed limit (absent steroids) since beginning track driving. I am much more cautious, patient, restrained and alert on the streets now as compared to pre-track driving days.

Sure it was Prednisone.

Admit it. You were going full out anabolic and had roid rage.

^^ Absolutely spot on. I'm not surprised by the survey results either. As carreradriver says, our awareness won't improve others' distracted driving, but what our racing experience does improve is our situational awareness of the idiots who are driving distracted.

Thanks for posting the results.

^ Agreed 100%. I've avoided so many could-have-been-accidents because I've been more situationally aware, and I've become more courteous when driving. It seems that these days people think they're the only person on the road.
