Not my best laps at Lightning but it'll give you a sense of the lines...
One thing to keep in mind for T1 is that it's uphill and the car compresses. You don't need to brake as hard you might think. I like to use that curbing there.
T5 - if you place the car parallel to the outside curbing at turn in, you'll be perfectly positioned at the crest and coming out of T5.

Great stuff.Leaving for The Glen in a few minutes for Niagara DE Monday and Tuesday.
I will resume watching all the Lightning Videos once home on Tuesday evening.
They are very helpful and I really appreciate how much you folks are helping out someone you don't even know. Says a lot about the folks who post here.

From many years ago back when PCA raced there (this was one of my favorite races ever...nose to tail the whole weekend).

The car is a 997.2C2S. Stock w track alignment and NT01s. Times for the day were from 1:15.5s to 1:18s, traffic dependent and run dependent generally, from TM data (but I did not create a synced vid for this session as it was posted to help a friend sell the modded 993 car i was following...)

Just got home from 2 days at The Glen.
Have been and will be watching the Lightning videos for the next 2 weeks, then off to NJMP.
These videos are really helping me get the line. Thanks a ton folks.
So many different lines and all (with a few exceptions) look good to me.

Check out the one where I pass Crawford going into the laces at WGI. Boy that really makes him boil.
OP - Lightning is a great track. I think it flows better than T-Bolt. Enjoy.

I cannot tell you all how much these videos are helping me learn the line, even before I've ever even been on that track.
I know actually driving Lightning will be much different than watching videos, but the videos have been extremely helpful.
I tend to learn "new to me" tracks fairly quickly (I think), especially with a coach in the right seat, but these videos are incredibly helpful.

Now to get really fast there, might take a couple of years. I learn a new trick there every year.
I guess it's like Lime Rock. Easy to learn. Tough to master. But without the dire consequences of getting it wrong. So have fun!

I don't think I'm overthinking it, just like to see video before I do a "new to me" track.
I learn most tracks fairly quickly.
Completely agree on getting fast on a new to me track.
I usually play it very safe when I first get on an unfamiliar track.
Then slowly build speed in corners and straights as I feel more comfortable on that track and start hitting the apex's more consistently lap after lap.
The videos are a great tool, at least to me they are, when I am going to be on a track I've never driven before.
