Just booked the Comfort Suites Sleep Inn in Danville.
Google maps says 11 miles/19 minutes to track.
Next year, I will commit to this DE sooner so I can stay at the track.
Matt R, any decent restaurants/bars in Danville?

I will start checking in Danville and Alton (per VIR's recommendation).

The girl I just spoke with (Erin) said to try the Sleep Inn near Danville. Anyone have any experience there? Thanks.
The Sleep Inn is fine. I typically stay there. About 15 mins from track. Isablel's Pizza is in shopping center next door (walk to), it's not much to look at, but the pizza is pretty good. If you're tired and just want to eat & sleep, you can't beat it.

That's what I booked.

Any other decent restaurants in Danville that you know of? Grocery stores? Fuel stations?

Thanks in advance for any info.

The Tuscan Kitchen is in front and pretty good too. There is a restaurant in Downtown that is good. I'll find the name when we go this weekend.

Italian - Joe & Mimma's
Mexican - El Vallarta
Both are close to Comfort Inn

Ate there twice, won't go again. They could have improved since then, but I'd rather not chance waste of time & money.

Is the Comfort Suites/Choice Hotels Sleep Inn the same place as Comfort Inn? I know it's the same company, but do you know if it's the same hotel?

Oh yeah, I've heard Me's Burgers & Brew is good too, though I've not been there. I may try it next time I'm down there.

That's the hotel on the north side that's up a little hill and in front of the mall I think. The Mexican place down the hill was good.

If my wife were coming, I'd go to Berry Hill. Little bit of a hike, but nice!

If not, sleep inn/holiday in express/equivalent in Danville.
I'm a huge fan of the Villas, since I often have the family in tow. Nothing better than morning coffee overlooking the esses. That said, for folks that are traveling in a group and/or bringing family, a great alternative is VRBO. Oftentimes, if the Villas are booked, I'll hop on VRBO and grab one of the many rental houses on Hyco Lake - especially for long weekend events like Hyperfest. While it's not coffee at the esses, it's tough to beat cocktails out on the deck overlooking the lake after a fun day on track!

Yes, I usually stay at the Sleep Inn. It's about the same as all of them (Days Inn, etc.), close to the track (about 9 miles), and near restaurants, gas, and grocery stores - including the Piggly Wiggly

I was there this past Laor Day weekend with Potomac PCA.
