The life of any HANS FIA certified device has no expiration as far as I can tell. But HANS does require recertification after 5 years, and recommended tether replacement is 5 years.
This 2015 HANS has THREE good years of track fun before it needs new tethers.
After using it 2 seasons, I realized it is too big for me. Bought smaller sized HNR better designed for women. Sooooo I've had to spend the big bucks again.
But my loss is your gain.
The only signs of wear are a small area of fading in the front padding fabric and the sticker at the collar has rubbed off because of touching my helmet (b/c too big for me!)
