TWS - That's all folks...
As if Harvey wasn't enough, just got this from clubregistration:
Not totally unexpected, but still sucks.
-Mike
I just received a phone call from Bill Mather letting me know that TWS is suspending all track events for the remainder of 2017. Lack of interest in the 1.8 configuration by clubs, and other issues have caused him to come to this decision.
I personally want to thank all of you who have helped make PDS such a success over the years. Also, thank you to everyone who stepped up and helped Pam and me run the operation over the last few months.
PDS will continue. As Joey gets plans underway, I will keep you posted.

Only 24 signed up for Sep 9, yeah I'd say lack of interest. Harvey also likely contributed, as I was holding off just in case I got smacked around by the storm.
Lots of people impacted in Houston.

TWS was a fun track and a favorite of mine, even though I only got to drive it a handful of times. It will be missed. Now somebody needs to figure out a way to build another big track in the greater Houston area to serve the big motorsports community there. In the meantime I hope some of you guys can make it over to NOLA for an event or two

According to the trackjunkies thread, apparently TWS has contracted to be a storage lot for flood cars. With a likely 1/2 million flooded out vehicles, they had to put them somewhere.
Perhaps a blessing in disguise, as I don't see them building on it with cars all over the place.

My last laps at TWS
Monday August 14, 2017 I was out at TWS for a private event, mainly instructing some newbies in provided cars. Late in the day, a couple people wanted to go out for rides and I took this newbie out for a spin.
(Before I get any gruff for the sandals, I had already changed my shoes to leave when asked to provide the rides before leaving late in the afternoon and forgot I had them on. I'm surprised - I actually think I heel toe better in them than in my racing shoes .

The last time I was at TWS I had some time to kill and the place to myself. This was August 14, 2017. I'd never been to the flag stations before and figured it would be neat to get some pictures.
Some of the flagstations are very close to the action, the pics would be better with cars. It is pretty much a counter clockwise lap with extra pics for the short course and the paddock as well as the sign as I pulling out that evening.
As I said in the other TWS 2.9 closing thread, so long and thanks for the fish. Made lots of friends and memories and even to the end TWS entertained her guests - the passenger from the video above had the typical TWS Permagrin.
