You will need a window net also. Please see this previous discussion

IMSA requires the installation of window nets AND driver containment nets like the one you pictured.

For PCA, the containment nets are legal to be used as a window net (but not recommended) provided they are installed to where the release mechanism is in accordance with Club Racing Rules. For this, you will need a bungee chord that pulls back the net when the release mechanism is activated. Below is a picture of a Boxster with an installation deemed in compliance with the rules. The second picture is a GT4CS, which was deemed not to be in compliance with the rules.

I think it did and that's why I wouldn't recommend it. I had some other SPBs that had higher forward mounting points at that race which looked a lot better with respect to mirror visibility.

Default Nets

I have both a containment net and a window net in my SP2. My understanding is that the containment net should be positioned to continue the work of the halo, when the head travels that far. In the first picture, the containment net looks too low.

I witnessed a multiple roll over accident at our last race and the window net became unattached. Thank god the driver walked away without any physical injuries. A secondary safecraft would help contain the arms to a degree in that case.

To take the devil's advocate role, it would also be one more thing to undo in case of fire. How often is a good, properly installed window net going to fail?

I run one in my E car along with a window net. Keep in mind that most series that require left side nets also require windows.
