Default PFC 08 pads compatibility with stock pads?

Hi all,

Can I swap between PFC 08's and stock pads at track side without re-bedding in ?

TIA

They are compatible, but may require an initial bedding.

Thanks.

So if I had used (still thick) rotors with used stock pads, then buy new PFC 08 pads, what do I need to do?

Do an initial bed-in of the PFC 08's, use them at the track, then just swap them and the stockers as needed at trackside?

Also, if I'm lazy, can I swap them at home, and drive to and from the track with the PFC 08s? (Max 250 miles)

part of bedding is getting pad material on the rotor
you need to drive them with the rotors you'll use
my experience with PFC is they bed pretty easy
you may be able to get it working ok on the out lap, start in the back
better to arrive with them bedded

No problems. I've done both many times and they play nicely together.

Me too! Excellent pads, tremendous bite compared to stock.

Absolutely! You're going to get some funky sounds at first, but I had them on my streetable track car with no issues.

The PFC pads work great when cold and/or wet so they certainly can be used when driving on the street. Other than wasting the super expensive race pads on the street and their dust seems to be on the more corrosive side, there isn't much reason to change them out, unless you drive a ton of street miles between race events. For many years I've used PFC97, 08, and 11's swapped with street pads, with never any issue. PFC's are great as I've never needed to bed or re-bed them when new, used, or before or after street pads. Pagids will NOT work for that routine - tried that once!

Pagid Yellows work fine with stock pads too. Done it many, many times though I currently use PFCs (Ferodo next).

When I used PFC 08 in my "Street/Track" Cayman S, I left them in all the time. I'm finding Ferodo DS1.11 as a good all purpose pad in my GT4.

yep, you should never have a problem if they are bedded correctly. always start with a new pad and go through the bedding process. never put a used pad on ......unless you want noise. very hard or almost impossible to bed properly
