got to experience a few F1 sightings as part of a McLaren tour this past week. the guys that showed up in their cars were not scared to drive them, despite some rain etc.

for those that have not had a chance to sit in the F1- the seating position is far superior (more like a prototype or Formula car) to that of the CGT or similar Porsches and even the P1 due to the super low seat and long pedal box. You sit very flat on the floor which I felt was incredible.

drivers came from across the globe and my biggest curiosity was what else they had in their garage.

we only managed to get a pair of speeding tickets, I was let off with a warning when myself and another P1 owner were pointed by from an SUV. Apparently one of our F1 buddies got the state troopers on high alert...whatever.

great times, amazing to drive them in the rain as well. The P1 is a fantastic car. Perhaps we could organize a CGT/918 meeting in a similar fashion one day.

I have seen #036 up close and personal here at home, beautiful color and car, owner very cordial. I love the P1 painted the same color too.

Of course, understandable. Maybe some sanitized anecdotes sans names might be publishable. I can't imagine a more interesting group of owners/garages than members of the McLaren f1 owners club... Maybe the 250 GTO owners club beat them but not by much.. In fact, I bet many are one and the same.

Would love to hear your P1 having traveled 30k+ miles 10 years from now. Enjoy the car, by far my favorite P1.

thanks- no reason to ever sell mine. I have started the piggybank for some other fancy cars but don't want to sell the p1!
