Just back home to Texas after spending the past week touring many mountain passes in Austria and Italy with a group of ten 918 Spyder owners. One member of the group actually took delivery of his 918 the day before we were departing for the Alps. The weather was perfect which made driving with the top off optional each day. Besides the exhilarating drives, we had the unique opportunity to have dinner with Dr. Wolfgang Porsche one evening and then he invited us to his home the next morning. He allowed us access to his private car collection (sorry but no pictures allowed). It was a great pleasure getting to visit with him as he is so proud of the Porsche brand and the 918 in particular.

I have to admit, I am very envious of those of you living in or around that region. I have never driven anything like those passes. There is just nothing comparable here in the US. I drove about 1900 km and never turned on the radio or touched the cruise control button which is pretty unheard of here in Texas! Plus the added bonus of cruising the Autobahn at 270 km/hr! Looking forward to returning to this area again!
