Default Best luggage solution for 918

I've bought a 918 Spyder in the UK and will be heading there to take delivery in 3 weeks. I won't have the opportunity to measure up the trunk space of the 918 before I go and I want to take a week's luggage in the car. I've seen the Porsche luggage but I want to fill the trunk with bags, not carry the roof panels in there. What is the best solution? Will a pair of carry-on trolley bags fit stacked on top of one another? What are other owners doing? I like the look of the Porsche garment bags that hand behind the seats. Can they be bought separately or only with the case?

I don't have my car right now so I can't measure for you.

The front trunk is not very big. It's barely 22-23" wide and perhaps 18-20" tall at the tall end. You can definitely fit one of the 21" tall North American carry-on trolley but not 2, you will have to use soft duffel bags in addition to the trolley.

The Porsche garment bag cannot be ordered alone, at minimum it has to be ordered with the Porsche 918 trolley as a 3 piece set. Or the complete 5 piece set.

Thanks Whoopsy. Any thoughts on the 3/5 piece luggage set, by the way? Would regular garment bags attach OK, or is there a proprietary fastener that will only take the genuine accessory?

I have the whole 5 piece set.

The one I really want was the centre console one and the wedge front trunk one. But since I can't a la carte the luggage I have to take the whole thing.

The garment bags came with a hanger attachment that screw into the rear wall, using the same holes that the 6 point harness uses. It's like a plastic hook and on the garment bag itself there is a flap of fabric that gets hooked onto. I don't think normal garment bags will ever fit like that.

What happens to the garment hanger hook, after you fit the 6 point belts if they use same holes? I was told the belts can't be removed.

I did ask for a price for the hangers and the centre console bag in isolation, and was told it would be possible, but four months later, no price - so maybe it's not!

The luggage set is only order-able from the parts counter, it was removed from the car option sheet. Porsche Parts only has 3 parts # for the luggage set, 1st one is just the centre console plus the glove box set. 2nd one is the front trunk case plus the 2 garment bags, this is the one normally for the Weissach cars. 3rd option is the whole 5 piece set.

I haven't got my car back yet, so I can't tell what the attachment method for the 6 point is. If it's screwed into the 4 holes on the back wall, I don't see why it cannot be removed. Anyway, I will have 6 point on the driver side and the garment hanger for the passenger side and I don't plan on changing that.
