My 918 or at least a report of it

I just like the car, at whatever price. It's end of an era of supercars.
2010 purchase. Very very cheap.
Doesn't matter what what price does. Just pointing out that I think your missing the point of the CGT. That's all.
Clearly the 959 should be worth multiples of the CGT if it was that important to people. 1/5th the volume of a CGT. Fact is, a 993 Turbo is a better car. In a decade the 918 will look the same way.
The CGT is something very unique and special. Of course to each there own but calling it a dead end is categorically false.
Its the pinnacle plastic Porsche from the motor sports division.

The pice of the CGT didn't explode until Paul Walker's death. Just saying

Well to be fair it was a different time in 2006-08. They became just a used supercar in the worst financial crises in modern history. Glut of CGT's and no bids. Today Porsche could sneeze on a 911 say they are only sneezing on 500 cars and they sell out in 1 day. Resale immediately for many multiples of the non-sneezed on 911s. Kinda weird in my mind.
I personally think the CGT would be HIGHER today in value if that didn't happen. But for the long run, the storied supercars do quite well.
People just realized what they had once car prices moved and they corrected accordingly. Its still too young and needs to be 25 years old for the true collector value premium to show. Give it another decade and see where things stand.

true.. P1 will squiggle all over and cause you to lift. 918 is just so planted.. it's hard to keep your feet on the floor as you accelerate.
This was at Smokies event this week.. hit 174mph on the half mile.. It was like a rollercoaster.. does everything for you... just hold on the wheel as you get a small sense of torque-steer from the front wheels under max launches
https://youtu.be/2P_Sz2esUT4
Also fun to do on regular roads... can almost get wheelspin in 2nd gear, but I had to lift for a turn

If we're going to call 918's "on the road", lightened P100Ds are also out there doing 2.1-2.2, to 60.

Even though it would be cheaper to lighten the Tesla, I can see why most would want to leave their family cars alone.

Ater almsot 2 months in 'transit' after Euro delivery, my car finally made it home.
It's my first time seeing the car with the proper wheels on too.
Car should be ready to be picked up this afternoon, just in time for me to use it for a PCA saturday morning run

First pic of the 2 of them together. Yes it's at the dealership. The 911R returned there to get prep for a car rally Saturday, while the 918 went back to to trouble shoot some faults. My Turbo 3.6 is actually there too, waiting on parts rom Porsche Classic.

Since you own HRE's on your 918 what are your thoughts on this 911R?
