Porsche sued over crash that killed Paul Walker

The court system in this country is out of control. There are so many frivolous law suits and the lawyers know most times you will settle out of court. They should change the law, if the defendant wins the case, the plaintiff should pay all legal fees. I promise you all this frivolous law suit would stop!!!

man..you two are funny..reminds me of this movie - what was it called.."3 wedding.. 1 funeral..."?
On the subject, harsh words from Suzie but lots of truth in it. Except that Paul Walker is for sure not to blame..but his friend wasnt a pro Race driver - simple as that. Just having some Cup experience ...his name was not Senna, Andretti, Schumacher, Prost etc.
They will loose this case - 100% sure, old tyres, human error, C-GT complied with all legislations at the time. Not that I agree with everything Porsche is doinng these days - but on this they have my full support!
Lets learn from this..and drive carefully.

Having been on the receiving end of a frivolous lawsuit this is exactly the outcome the plaintiff is (or at least her lawyer) is betting on. In my situation I wanted to take it to court but my insurance, who agreed the lawsuit was BS, wanted to settle for $10K just so it would go away. It was very annoying to take the path of least resistance versus defending a principle. I hope Porsche beats this one down.

What a BS lawsuit and the widow should be ashamed of herself.
The irony here is that the car's supposed shortcomings(as stated in the lawsuit) are the exact features which attracted Roger to the CGT in the first place. He liked the car's features/design because it makes the car feel like a "street legal race car", Roger, of his own free will, made the decision to buy the CGT based on the car's high performance attributes, and now his widow is attempting to extort money from Porsche based on those very same attributes.
Roger was not some housewife, unknowledgeable about the car and in over her head, who purchased the car to run her kid to school and make the weekly grocery store trek. He knew exactly what the car was all about and that is exactly why he purchased it. Furthermore, he knew the risks associated with driving over twice the legal speed limit on a public road yet he decided to take the gamble...and unfortunately for he and Paul, he lost that bet.

I wouldn't start calling names so quick. Maybe she/they are forced by their insurance company to proceed with suing, in order to assign liability/receive compensation, etc?

Nine.year old tires, are you serious? What type of tires came on the CGT from the factory? And please don't tell me they were some crappy P-Zeros they replaced them with nine years ago?

Pretty sure Michelin PS2's were OEM and it is not at all uncommon to see OEM tires still on a car that's basically barely driven (I think the Walker car had only about 3K miles on it.) Anyone that actually used the car on a regular basis would have changed those to the newer technology (and Porsche N-spec approved) Michelin Super Sports, but it's telling that this car hadn't been upgraded.

Rahal - previous owner never changed the tires - 5th owner.
Cold / old tires are a dangerous combination.
Someone spent the money to remove and paint the wheels but didn't replace the tires.
When I looked at a Red CGT a few months ago it also had the original tires and more than a few over rev's.
