90's vs 2004 - 2005 doesn't make sense so the CGT is the better drivers car one will need dozens for an even trade.

It is a cool read - thanks for posting.

Doesn't always work that way. 2004/05 vs 918 doesn't make much sense either, and I think the CGT is the better drivers car. For each their own of course!

918 is too porky for todays tires and brakes - no argument along with it's the beginning of an era vs the CGT being the last.

The F1 was a race car - modified to make it street legal there is just no comparison IMO.

http://www.thesupercarblog.com/repla...1-costs-50000/

CGT had F1 race engine placed in a street legal build - clutch suspension followed theme but two completely different builds.

Luckily Michelin came along adding to the CGT's experience the F1 it's a whole different league all around not only in time but intent should have been more clear. CGT in many ways is a modern F1 for us po folk.

CORRECT...!

This is why the Porsche Carrera GT sounds like an F1

Funny things happen at auctions. This was all about the miles. The car itself was nothing special (other than being a CGT which is special of course).

You can search the database to determine the number built in this combo (74 for North America alone - that is not a small number).

Particularly if you add the 10% commission I would hazard to guess that the buyer could not turn around and sell the car tomorrow for as much as they paid - well sold IMO.

Very interesting, according to the database, Basalt Black is the rarest of all the standard colors (including yellow and red) at 39 cars in the United States. I would have thought fayence yellow or guards red would be more rare.

A bit OT here... what do you think contributed to the (significant) price difference between the Gooding and RM auctions? The RM cars seem to be better-bid in general. In one case (with the 964 Turbos) the price delta came out to nearly 40%... what gives?

These aren’t always pros, sometimes they’re just drunk rich guys having a good time.

CGT sellers have been kicking themselves for a long time.

Estimate 800k - 1M well calculated - north of 1M then it's considered well sold.

CGT is finally emerging there's still a lot of play financially speaking.

Every article / review puts the CGT at #1 or #2 best drivers car.
