Don't know ratio of CGT US vs the world but typically 1/3 Ferrari's Lamborghini's go to the US. Plenty of money in the US it's lack of drivers I still can't understand why the CGT's aren't leaving the US.
It seems 90% of US owners don't / can't drive their CGT and if they do weather prefect to the gas station and back which was my exact drive 15 miles away.
Even if first gear is a little odd after that - perfection.
On another note test drove F40 ... no thanks

Re: F40 make sure it was one in top form. The older cars need to be set up right. Furthermore the USA version is highly different than the original ethos. A euro is 250lbs lighter with more power which yields acceleration times at speed very close to a CGT not to mention a much more nimble car. They are MUCH smaller than a CGT too so they feel more like toys. I liken the USA car to a USA Countach. A specific set of specs for the car that ultimately became a great compromise and hurt its image.
Test a Euro F40 and I expect you'll be singing a different tune. If the turbos didn't fully light up all the way then it wasnt a true test!!

F40 is a perfect companion to the CGT.

We got a compromised car, period the end. Theres a reason why it became so famous, and that reputation certainly didn't begin with the USA version.....
The data is out there on speed timing that show how fast the early cars are. The earliest cars with LM style doors with sliding windows are even lighter and feel like true race cars when piloted. The CGT is kinda like the F40 all grown up in my mind. I like the F50 but they seem like they would be best on track and poo poo around some good country roads unless revving the snot out of it. The CGT has the torque in the mid range to be super fun everywhere.
Certainly they are the closest thing to a race car for the road that Ferrari ever made.

That’s the spec to have.... that’s the way all 400 cars originally were supposed to come. It was so hardcore people said hey we need regular wind up windows and 3 point seat belts. They knew they had a legend so they took it to America and built 3 times original allotment. Got nudered along the way.

Absolutely see how that would happen. At speed there’s plenty of awareness happening. I too felt that way but with them open it’s natural enough. The 4 points are the issue. They won’t let you up out of the seat to look both ways. Fine in race car not for street.
Anyway CGT

If that's the silver 11k mile example I'm thinking of (sounds like it might be), it should be noted that the car has no luggage, no books, no spare keys, no covers, etc...
