Default European spec CGT Conversion to US

What does it take to convert a Euro spec CGT to US spec?
Has anybody attempted doing that?

I would say lot's of patience and money. You'll need more of the former.

I'd be surprised if it would be feasible to bring one in from Europe. As far as I know, quite a few are heading TO Europe because of how weak the US dollar is.

It's actually pretty easy. However, more have gone the other way, as I am sure others will chime in. The parts might be laying around! This car was built to one standard, the biggest (relatively minor) items would be Bumpers (markers and) and instruments.

To do this runs against economic logic though; since you have a better chance of finding the desired car in the US (all else being equal).

Here is the full list of items to convert from European to US spec.

LIST OF CHANGES FROM C00 (GERMAN SPEC.) TO C02 (US SPEC) - PER OFFICIAL PORSCHE DOCUMENT

- Front covering with additional sidemarks

- USA specific main headlights (modified road illumination)

- USA specific tail lights (direction indicator red instead of yellow)

- Abolition of rear fog light left, including switch on instrument panel: in exchange, a second back up (reversing) light is fitted

- Outside door mirror on driver's side flat (instead of aspherical)

- USA specific license plate holders (smaller)

- USA specific labels (including adhesive labels)

- Radio remote control 315MHz (instead of 433 MHz)

- Inflation pressure monitoring transmission frequency 315MHz (instead of 433MHz)

- USA specific instrument cluster (mph instead of km/h, F instead of degree C) [probably not changed is UK C16 car is donor]

- USA specific navigation CF for radio navigation

- OBD II (instead of EOBD)

- ORVR (additional leak diagnostics fuel tank system)

- Ends -

Is it possible to obtain a copy of the official Porsche Document? We have a customer that brought his CGT from Italy and would like to keep in the US and register it. So we are contemplating performing the conversion...

It still might be cheaper to sell that car in Europe, and buy a replacement in the US.

I have a set of usa rear lights and headlights of which i need to change the headlights to euro,if you are interested.I also have the reverse light/fog light part also.
