The truth about the CGT.
Thanks to a tip from Ben I took delivery from Chris Huck and the folks at Pioneer in San Diego of a 2005 CGT who did a great job and made my buying experience one of the best ever.
After spending all day today driving it in Vegas traffic I am utterly astounded that this car ever got any negative press. The clutch issue does not exist. If I had not read any press coverage about the clutch I never would have thought twice about it. It feels like about any car with 600HP is going to feel with a clutch that needs to get you farther than a quarter mile at a time is going to feel like. In other words it feels no different than the other cars I have driven with 600 or more HP. Only this car has a radio, tops that come off and is a pleasure to drive.
Every car that I have driven with this kind of HP felt to one extent or another like this clutch. It simply is not a problem. The ride height takes patience and diligence but this car got over every speed bump in my subdivison without a scrape.
The power and handling is like NO car I have ever driven including F-50s, F-40s, 360 challenge cars and the like. Only Porsche could build a 600 HP race car and make it comfortable to drive on the street. I own about 35 cars now and 25 are now for sale because everything else is just a letdown. Nothing else compares to this car when you consider it has a radio A/C and removeable tops.
The fit and finish is at a showcar level and the car just takes your breath away. And if you ever get a ride from Ben in his CGT around San Diego it is better than sex, And it lasted longer and he was a lot less work. LOL

Les,
Congrats on the new CGT! It is really unique and amazing. What color did you get?
After driving it, discussing the price seems like quibbling over nothing. I'm not planning to sell it. So I guess it's a total loss for me!

Les, I remember reading your doubts due to the initial confusing press, but glad it all worked out and lived up to your expectations. You have a real driver's supercar there, congrats.

I agree with you on all points! Unfortunately I can't comment on the ride with Ben being better than sex, but I must say that I have chose to drive my CGT rather than go inside and find my wife!
I also agree about selling the other cars, I don't have quite as many as you but my NSX, 993TT & Testarossa will all be finding new homes this spring. I can't imagine wanting to drive them when the CGT is in the stable.
