I love this explanation from the beyond.ca thread:
I wasn't there, but the friend who took the pics said that the guys excuse was that "the accelerator stuck, so he pulled the e-brake and spun out. Eventually coming to rest on this median." My personal opinion is that the guy was dicking around and either couldnt handle the car, or, his showing off went terribly wrong.

I understand that these cars are made to be supercars. I understand that there is an amount of "userfriendliness" that is removed when you do this.
But are they THAT difficult to control? Mid-engined layout does not lend itself to a slow spin, but is it a snap-oversteer that is happening (except for the one that was rear-ended.)

Look at the skid mark across the median in the second picture (it's actually white paint from the arrow). Also, look at the skid mark across the white turn arrow in the left lane behind the truck. The guy obviously swerved and took out the left side wheels, jumped the curb, and came to a stop on top. He's lucky he didn't get hit from the oncoming traffic in the left lane.

The guy just had his car impounded a month ago for street racing against some older C2 911 as well. He's in his early 30's, some software company guy. Obviously no skill what so ever. I've sat in that very same car. What a shame.

There will be many more like these. The survivors will keep their value.
