It's a test track used primarily for top speed testing. The same test, called The 200 mph Club, came up with the following results:
Ferrari Enzo: 218.7 mph
Porsche Carrera GT: 205.8 mph
Mercedes McLaren SLR: 205.8 mph
Lamborghini Murcielago: 203.3 mph
Bentley Continental GT: 198.4 mph
Aston Martin DB9: 190.4 mph

yes viken, how'd you know the name of the test track? that is it! incidentally, it was all part of a 3 part series (forget the 1st part) with the 2nd being top speed and 3rd being the track performance. i'm guessing someone will post the part 3 article in time.

"Yeah, one second faster on this particular road course on that particular day. YMMV."
yep, but one second is huge on a sub 60 second course. further, the enzo is basically an automatic anybody can drive whereas a driver experienced with the CGT would have clobbered the time put up in this test. iow, a factory driver in the enzo would have bettered the time, but considerably less so than would have a porsche factory driver bettered the CGT's time.

Ben, I am curious what difference does this make to you as a future CGT owner?
If the Enzo was faster you would still buy the CGT. Also, you will never have the opportunity to drive your car at those speeds and experience what the car can do. However you will be the proud owner of the ultimate Porsche.

It just makes me proud as did touring the factory. I bet I'll see a much higher % of the maximum performance of the CGT as well as more frequently than you do of your spider's Call me crazy, but don't call me a poseur

I'll bet that at Mid-Ohio I'll be going just as fast (or faster) than the test drivers did at Bari.
Nick, bum a ride in an Enzo from one of your Ferrari pals and I'll meet you at Mid-Ohio next Spring to find out who is blowing smoke. People will want to know!
Oops, I almost forgot your previous instructions, ... The Ezno is a piece of art, not really a car. One shouldn't drive them as they might depreciate. Only uncultivated Neanderthals would ever take an Enzo to the track. I guess you're off the hook.

Mike, I hope your as good of a driver as you thing you are. After hearing and watching a pro driver spending an entire morning trying to get one fast time around a track but unable to do so because of spinning out should give pause. You have nothing to prove.
BTW enough of the personal attacks. I find it disingenuous that because I acknowledge that I did not buy my 360 Spider solely for performance or to track it, I am considered a posuer. Yet when Porsche owners buy their cars most who never track the car are considered sport car enthusiast.
Finally, I wrote Enzo owners typically do not track theirs cars and consider it an investment. It is art by that definition.
