Been spending the past few months deciding if I should start this project.
So I thought it would be a great idea to pop down to the Singer factory in LA, and let the car decides for me.
What really surprises me is the level of attention to detail and the extent of customization you get on each car. I really enjoy the fact that they have thought about every part of the design.
And the idea of getting a car that is specifically tailored to your taste just made me feel very excited.
So before I start the journey of looking for a donar car, I wonder if any owners can share their ownership experience? Are you still happy about the car after a year or two?

5200mi and it’s is the best car I’ve ever owned
The wait won’t get much shorter and they will stop taking orders for Classic relatively soon
Beyond loved my first, and I'm thrilled to receive my second in a couple of months which I sold my first for (first was a second hand car, second is designed by me). No other car on the planet I care about nearly as much at the end of the day, and the special factor is off the charts in a perfect, low key way. The Singer does everything from be a solid DD, to even track days...where it's really something else. I've stopped caring about most new things Porsche after diving for the Singer experience to boot. Beyond love the cars and would tell anyone without hesitation thinking about one to pull the trigger.

yeah, they kind of just become “another” and unfortunately is getting further away from “another” actually exciting car...they just get faster and less involving. Oh well was bound to happen at some point!
new vehicles of the past couple years have become flaccid and unexciting in a sad way .. this includes the wannabe singers both homegrown and commercial which have come out of the woodwork in an attempt to capitalize on success and the long wait.
But as always, imitators haven't and won't get there because they dont have Rob. Products are all about the people behind them. Further, there have been many (10+) years of refining, iterating and productizing the car as a complete package in harmony and not as an assembly of cool bits and pieces from catalogues. There is no shortcut to this reality and no amount of exposed carbon fiber body panels changes it.
I have secured a production slot somewhere around Q1 2020. The 964 will be on its way to LA by the end of this year.
The donor 964 is a 91' car from Japan. 70k on the clock, extremely well preserved from its previous owners.
At the meantime, I am trying to lock down some of the specs:
Still struggling between a 3.8 and 4.0.
Colour wise I'm aiming for something like Navy/ Midnight blue with Yellow side stripes.
Thoughts and comments are more than welcome.

4.0, 4.0, 4.0 4.0 and don't even remotely think anything other than 4.0 for a fresh build. If the car already had the 3.8 in it and you bought it preowned, that would be another question, but even then...most will upgrade to the 4.0. if you're coming to Monterey/Quail this year, you'll be able to see how a realllllly dark blue singer looks on the stand at the show ��
