If parts continue to increase at 25% per year every year, in less than 20 years one part will cost over $1MM. Not realistic.

Is it me or is the CGT the only supercar that people constantly worry about maintenance costs?

I don't worry about it but if someone asks about it, I just give the facts; it is a Porsche but it's not a 911.

Because it is a porsche there is an undertone of "this has to be cheaper than ferrari" but the CGT requires a high level of detail. Deferring needed maintenance on a CGT does not work very well- but this is why so many Ferraris are under 5,000 miles- the fear or reality of the dreaded engine out service.

When the CGT was 250k - it was a much bigger deal.

Funny thing - people often only maintain them when they go for sale or purchase.

The guys who actually drive them don't have the issues or spend the money like the ones selling or buying - I think it's due to Porsche dealers being told by the factory to not sell without a major service and or used in the negotiations PPI.

When I was looking at a red one - dealer required at 40k service which someone here had done bought another and as of today have never done the major and had it checked last month - all good.

Is this maintenance due to the race derived engine?

14 yrs maintenance costs 25k total 10k miles - not convinced CGT requires high maintenance.

Agree they like to be driven and don't sit well.

14 year maintenance for 40,000 miles circa $90000 albeit with a lot of track use early on over the first 5 years. I’ll list out next week some of the key items but the costs have reduced annually as I do between 1 and 2000 miles a year.

Correction more like $120k from 2008-2017, need to fish out the prior couple of years will post a full break down next week for those interested.

^ that is about $1K per month which is very reasonable all things considered. People flush $2K per month on a car payment without batting an eye..
