Default SCG 004s

Anyone have an opinion or even looked into this car?

2600lbs, center seat, stick with a GT3 derived V6TT GTR engine.

The same engine just won Sebring. Trying to go sub 6:30 at the ring on street tires. Could be totally epic.

Been following this Jim is doing some serious work.

It's just to hard living in the midwest to deal with - if I lived nearby would have pursued the car.

We’re doing it. I think this things going to SPANK a senna and look a million times better while doing so. Jim really has something very special going down.

865kg downforce. Senna has 800kg. The engine is also completely race proven and really legendary.

With street tires he says the CS with 800hp will do the ring closer to 6:11, the all time record. Trying to beat that with a road legal, race legal car. Very neat!!

With that greenhouse, a stick, center seat, and alllll that juicy mid range torque I expect this to be fun at road speed too.

Back in the days when I was a working writer, I got to interview Jim for his P4/5 creation to do an article. Normally, I would dismiss his whole line of cars as vaporware and renderings, but talking to the guy for 3 hours tells you not only how deadly serious he is, but how utterly qualified to pull off a project of this magnitude he is. Really amazing guy.

Hes dead serious about these cars and the end result should be spectacular. Having successfully engineered 003, he now has true race tested chassis geometry with which to build upon. That in itself is a very hard place to get to.

Of course I've heard about this awesome car enthusiast for awhile. Racing at the ring, etc., he pops up in the news now and then. I was just reading about this 004ss last night. Tthe car gets some kind of waiver for emissions and safety requirements!

"Having been granted low-volume manufacturer status, SCG can build up to 325 cars per year in the US that don’t need to comply with certain federal safety and emissions regulations. With the new goal being to build a car that's eligible for the GTE/GTLM/GT3 classes, the team came up with the 004S, a road car with a 17 digit VIN code making it legal in America."

And this off roader concept:

Mr. Glickenhaus is a legend. I followed many of his threads over on Fchat, particularly the one regarding P3/4 0846. What a story! I had the pleasure of meeting him at Amelia Island where he was presenting the P3/4. Absolutely gorgeous car and a very nice guy.

How great would it be to have Pininfarina design a car for you and then actually have it built. The P4/5 by Pininfarina. As Jim tells the story....the car had a Ferrari badge, since he used an enzo to start, and Luca Demontizemelo stopped by Pininfarina to look at the car since he had heard there was a Ferrari badge on it. His goal was to tell Mr. Glickenhaus and Pininfarina they could not put a Ferrari badge on the car. But after seeing it, he said it was one of the most beautiful Ferraris he'd ever seen and that it deserves the Ferrari badge. So it stayed.

And then to go on and build P4/5 Competizione, SCG003, SCG003 Competizione and now 004S I have to take my hat off to the man. Great job Mr. G!
